AgriNext at the Tipperary Festival of Science: Pioneering Circular Economy in Multifunctional Agriculture
18. 11. 2024
The AgriNext project proudly participated in the Tipperary Festival of Science on November 13 at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Campus in Thurles. As part of Science Week Ireland 2024, the event focuses on the Circular Economy, emphasising how innovation can create sustainable cycles within various industries. AgriNext was honoured to showcase how multifunctional agriculture can drive Ireland’s agricultural sector toward a sustainable, circular future.
At its core, AgriNext aims to modernise agriculture by embracing eco-friendly practices that reduce waste, reuse resources, and contribute to Ireland’s circular economy goals. By aligning with the circular economy principles, AgriNext is committed to helping farmers produce more with less, all while reducing environmental impact and fostering resource efficiency.
The festival provided an interactive platform where AgriNext could connect with attendees of all ages and backgrounds, from local farmers and students to researchers and policymakers. We shared with the Tipperary community how AgriNext’s strategies in regenerative organic farming increase productivity and contribute to soil health, biodiversity conservation, and greenhouse gas reduction. Through these circular practices, AgriNext enables Irish farms to close resource loops, reduce dependency on synthetic inputs by recycling organic waste, and build resilience against climate change.
